NuggetFest is mixture of camping, hiking, target shooting, cooking out and simply enjoying the great outdoors with others who share the same hobbies and interests. Beginning in 2014, NuggetFest starting out as a small 3 day camping trip originally hosting about 30 attendees on a small land lease in Pennsylvania. Since then the meetup has grown rapidly and has exceeded over 100 participants.
What is NuggetFest NOT?
NuggetFest is NOT affiliated with any militias, government organizations, anti-establishment groups, religious or political ideologies, or extremism of any form. While a main hobby and source of entertainment for NuggetFest involves firearms, NuggetFest is not associated with any other "Gun Club" or lobbyist group.
Who is welcome to attend NuggetFest?
Anyone with a great attitude that enjoys being around nature and having fun with others is welcome at NuggetFest. NuggetFest does not discriminate against race, religion, creed, ethnicity, etc. One of the few non-safety related rules is pretty straight forward, "Don't be a dick." As long as you can abide by that and the other rules briefed during the event we are happy to have you.
Can I drink at NuggetFest?
Yes. Alcohol is permitted for those ages 21 and up. We have begun carding attendees and issuing wrist bands to denote those of drinking age to help promote a safe, fun atmosphere. Additionally, drinking is only permitted AFTER the shooting range has closed for the day (usually around sunset). This helps eliminate any interaction between alcohol and firearms. Once you begin drinking, you are done handling loaded firearms for the remainder of that day. Safety is the number one concern at NuggetFest and anyone that willfully ignores the Alcohol policies may be banned without prior warning. Please drink responsibly while attending NuggetFest.
What are the shooting range rules?
The shooting range rules are given in person each day at NuggetFest. Any rifle or long gun must remain unloaded while not at the firing line. Pistols may remain loaded if they are properly secured in a holster attached to a belt, a waistband holster or FULLY secured within a pocket while the owner is NOT drinking alcohol. Not loosely tucked into a waistband without a holster or hanging out of a pocket.
